A few days from now we will celebrate the fourth anniversary of the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator on August 18, 2020. From all of us on the team, we want to share a message of sincere gratitude to everyone in the flight sim community for making the last four years truly special. Whether you’re a long-time veteran sim pilot, someone brand new to the hobby, a third-party developer, or a content creator, it’s because of YOU that we’ve been able to deliver four years of ongoing support at a sustained rate of nearly two major releases per month since 2020. Stay tuned to our Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube channels for some special anniversary videos over the next few days!

THIRD PARTY UPDATE

As of 08/12, we have now approved 295 (+0) third parties into the in-sim marketplace and – so far 237 (+0) have released 3,978 products on PC (+42) and 3,736 on Xbox (+44).
In total, 4,741 products (+27) have already been released in 3^rd party stores and the in-sim marketplace. Beyond that, another 822 products (+16) from 3^rd party developers are in production (328 announced, 494 unannounced). In total, over 5,563 3^rd party products (+43) have either been released or are in development.
Airports:
- 2,406 airports (-4) are either released or are in various stages of development.
  - 2,222 airports (+4) have been released on the platform so far in various stores.
  - 1,727 airports (+3) have been released in the in-sim marketplace.
  - 99 airports (-7) beyond the released airports have been announced.
  - 85 airports (-1) are not announced, but the dev let us know that an airport is in production.

Community Fly-In Friday

The Community Fly-In Friday World Tour continues!

We will check off two more capital cities from our World Tour this week: Zagreb, Croatia and Budapest! Departing from Ljubljana, Slovenia where we ended the last leg, we will fly on a generally easterly heading across Croatia and Hungary, taking in the sights of many POIs (including castles, statues, towers, and stadiums) en route. One of the highlights of this stage will be flying over Hungary’s Lake Balaton, the largest lake in Central Europe and a popular tourist destination.

We recently released World Update XVII: United Kingdom & Ireland, and in this week’s Community Video YouTuber GamerMuscleVideos takes a flight in the DA-62 for a first look at some of the updated city scenery included in this free update.
