Yesterday, our regular panel of Jorg, Seb, and Martial hosted the first Developer Livestream since the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The panel acknowledged the rocky launch of the new simulator, discussed improvements to our CDN infrastructure and the two stability patches released thus far, and also shared some details about Patch 3 which is targeted to release next week on either December 10 or December 12. The panel also reviewed the top bugs and wishlist requests as voted by the community on our official forums thus far.

Some other highlights of the livestream include:

Matt Nischan from Working Title provided a demonstration of the new web-based Flight Planner for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Jorg revealed that the next four first-party Marketplace aircraft from Microsoft (Cessna 185F, Cap-4 Paulistinha, and two more TBA) will be provided free to all players.
World Update 19: Brazil, Guyana, French Guiana, and Suriname is now targeted to release in early 2025 (either January or February).

Starting next week on Tuesday, December 10, our Community Manager SeedyL will begin hosting a recurring weekly livestream on Twitch in which he’ll be playing the new MSFS 2024 Career Mode. SeedyL holds real-world private and glider pilot licenses and formerly worked as a groundschool (classroom) instructor at a flying school. This series will be a great introduction to aviation concepts for anyone new to flight simming. Viewers in Twitch chat will be able to vote on how SeedyL should proceed with his virtual pilot career, for example choosing which mission to fly next or what certification to pursue. The stream starts at 11:00am PST (1900 UTC) on our official Twitch channel. See the Community section below for more details!

Community Fly-In Friday

Welcome to our first Community Fly-In following the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024! Of course, pilots using Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) are absolutely welcome to join too!

This week, we’ll be visiting one of the most scenic and exciting places on the entire planet, the Grand Canyon! After departing from Page Municipal Airport (KPGA), we’ll fly on a generally south-westerly heading to Grand Canyon National Park (KGCN) then turn westbound for a full stop landing in fabulous Las Vegas!

Rise of a Pilot – Career Mode Livestream

Join Microsoft Flight Simulator Community Manager SeedyL – a real-life private and glider pilot and former ground school (classroom) instructor at a flying school – as he teaches viewers about aviation using the Career Mode in Microsoft Flight Simualtor 2024!

In this livestream video series, SeedyL will start a new pilot career in MSFS 2024 and progress through the training and certifications, using the sim to explain aviation concepts and flight techniques encountered throughout Career Mode. If you’re new to flight simming, this will be a great opportunity to learn more about flying, and if you’re an experienced simmer, you can be entertained by SeedyL’s commentary or share your aviation expertise with other viewers in the chat who may have questions.

Viewers in Twitch chat will have the opportunity to vote on how SeedyL’s pilot career should proceed, for example voting on which missions to take next or which certifications to pursue.

The first episode of this new ongoing series will be broadcast on our official Twitch channel starting at 11:00am PST (1900 UTC) on Tuesday, December 10!
