In this week’s Development Update blog, we are pleased to share with you new versions of the Feedback Snapshot and SDK Update. You can see them both by reading on below.
On Wednesday, we released a new pre-release test build for Sim Update 1 to volunteer beta testers from the community. In case you missed it, you can read the release notes for SU1 beta build 1.3.19.0 on the forums here. The team remains hard at work resolving issues identified by testers enrolled in the beta, and we aim to have a release quality build available soon. Thanks again to everyone who has joined the beta and shared their feedback and bug reports on the forums. Your contributions are incredibly valuable to us as the dev team continues their work on SU1.

Featured Release
This week, we’re excited to highlight the Jetstar from developer Big Radials which releases for both PC and Xbox today!
Ladies and Gentlemen, Elvis (personal jet) has arrived!
The Jetstar was the very first business jet and started life as a tender for a United States Air Force requirement. The tender was eventually dropped due to budget; however, the Jetstar was repurposed for the business sector as the very first purpose-built business jet.
Originally designed to use two Bristol Siddeley Orpheus engines, due to supply issues these were replaced with a pair of twin Pratt & Whitney JT12s for a total of four engines, each pushing 3300lbs of thrust. This configuration allowed the Jetstar to cruise upwards to 40,000′ at a speed of 0.8 Mach.
Big Radials have chosen to bring to life this first version of the JetStar as it was the airframe that blazed a trial for a whole sector of aviation, the Business Jet.
Features:
- Full native flight model, 3D assets, sounds, 4K textures, PBR, everything!
- Goes without saying right?
- Custom XPDR Instrument
- Fully interactive cockpit
- Complete Fuel System Management for all 6 tanks
- Autopilot
- Support for GTN750 from PMS50 and TDSSIM
- Custom AutoStart code that follows correct start procedure of 3, 4, 2, 1.
- Overhead Panel Fully Interactable
- Ability to switch between PMS & TDS GTN750. Defaults to PMS only.
- Custom CIVA INS Instrument (initial version with full entry and heading bug control)
- Paint Kit

Community Fly-In Friday
One of the new features introduced with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is an accurate depiction of the aurora borealis (Northern Lights) when and where they are visible in the real world. For our Fly-In this week, we’re venturing to the frigid shores of the Barents Sea in Northern Norway in search of aurora!
As always, this event is open to pilots flying on MSFS (2020) as well, and even though you won’t see the Northern Lights, you’ll still be able to enjoy Norway’s fantastic scenery.
Event details are available here. All are welcome to participate!
Rise of a Pilot – Career Mode Livestream
Join Microsoft Flight Simulator Community Manager SeedyL – a real-life private and glider pilot and former ground school (classroom) instructor at a flying school – as he teaches viewers about aviation using the Career Mode in Microsoft Flight Simualtor 2024!
In this livestream video series, SeedyL will start a new pilot career in MSFS 2024 and progress through the training and certifications, using the sim to explain aviation concepts and flight techniques encountered throughout Career Mode. If you’re new to flight simming, this will be a great opportunity to learn more about flying, and if you’re an experienced simmer, you can be entertained by SeedyL’s commentary or share your aviation expertise with other viewers in the chat who may have questions.
Viewers in Twitch chat will have the opportunity to vote on how SeedyL’s pilot career should proceed, for example voting on which missions to take next or which certifications to pursue.
SeedyL will be back in the cockpit next week on Tuesday, February 25th. All episodes will be broadcast on our official Twitch channel starting at 11:00am PT (1900 UTC).
Community Video
For this week’s Community Video we join Flight Sim Passion as they replicate a real world flight operated by GOL Airlines between Sau Paolo Congonhas airport and Santos Dumont in the Boeing 737.
Santos Dumont is renowned for being one of the most tricky places to land an airliner and is certainly not for the faint of heart, however Flight Sim Passion makes it look easy! We thoroughly enjoyed this video with a mixture of first-person piloting views, alongside replays showcasing some beautiful external and wing view shots. Who else wants to give this difficult approach a shot?
