Thank you to everyone who has downloaded the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 1 pre-release beta test build! Since its launch last week, our team has been very carefully reading your feedback and bug reports on the forums. A new pre-release build with more fixes and improvements is coming soon for beta testers. If you would like to enroll in the beta to help test the next major release of MSFS 2024, you can find instructions (for PC-MS Store, PC-Steam, and Xbox Series X|S) here.

We are also pleased this week to share with you an updated Feedback Snapshot, now expanded to show the status of the Top 96 bugs as voted by members of our forums. There is also an updated Wishlist for the Top 24 feature requests for MSFS 2020 and 2024.

Finally, our next Developer Livestream is now confirmed for Wednesday, February 5 at 10:30am PST (1830 UTC). Follow our official Twitch channel to receive a notification when our panel of Jorg, Seb, and Martial go live to discuss the future development plans for Microsoft Flight Simulator and answer the most frequently asked questions the community submitted to our web form over the past few weeks. As always, the panel will also answer live questions from Twitch viewers, so be sure to tune in if you didn’t have a chance to pre-submit a question!

Community Fly-In Friday

This week we’re off to South Africa for a gorgeous site-seeing flight from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town. Our flight plan will see us fly mainly along the coast and will end with a beautiful view of Table Mountain, Cape Town’s most famous landmark!

Rise of a Pilot – Career Mode Livestream

Join Microsoft Flight Simulator Community Manager SeedyL – a real-life private and glider pilot and former ground school (classroom) instructor at a flying school – as he teaches viewers about aviation using the Career Mode in Microsoft Flight Simualtor 2024!

In this livestream video series, SeedyL will start a new pilot career in MSFS 2024 and progress through the training and certifications, using the sim to explain aviation concepts and flight techniques encountered throughout Career Mode. If you’re new to flight simming, this will be a great opportunity to learn more about flying, and if you’re an experienced simmer, you can be entertained by SeedyL’s commentary or share your aviation expertise with other viewers in the chat who may have questions.

Viewers in Twitch chat will have the opportunity to vote on how SeedyL’s pilot career should proceed, for example voting on which missions to take next or which certifications to pursue.

SeedyL will be back in the cockpit next week on Tuesday, February 4th. All episodes will be broadcast on our official Twitch channel starting at 11:00am PT (1900 UTC).
